The GoPro Suction Cup Mount is a heavy-duty mount that you can mount just like an ordinary suction cup. A popular use for this amazing accessory is to mount your GoPro on the outside of your car.
But what happens if it flies off? Here’s my story of how my GoPro flew off my car including what I did wrong, what saved my GoPro from destruction, and how I found it.

Using the GoPro Suction Cup Mount in my Car
Check out the original video from the day the GoPro flew off here. However, don’t worry about using this good GoPro accessory because here are 3 things to do when using the suction cup mount so you don’t lose or destroy your GoPro
1) Use the waterproof case. It’s waterproof (um, duh) but not only does the waterproof housing protect the GoPro from water, it protects the GoPro when hitting the ground or worse… the pavement.
2) Turn the wifi on, even if you’re not using it. If you have an iPhone or a phone that connects to your GoPro over wifi, turn your wifi on even if you’re not using the app. If you lose the GoPro, use the app to initiate the beeper.
3) Tether the GoPro. This is what I failed to do! Use 550 cord (or 350, or any kind of “paracord”) to tie the GoPro to something stable. If the suction cup becomes undone, at least the GoPro will still be connected to your car and you don’t have to hunt for it.
So there you have it. Good luck with your suction cup mount, and remember to do what I didn’t do! Tether that thing!
